Lizzie Robillard currently makes work in Phoenix, Arizona after receiving a BFA in Painting from San Francisco Art Institute and making work in both Oakland, California and Chicago, Illinois. Lizzie primarily creates distorted pointillist portraits of imaginary people on both panel and paper. These paintings celebrate their love for the humorously disturbing aspects of both the human psyche and anatomy.

Robillard paints distorted pointillist portraits on both panel and paper. Playing with scale, their works range in size from an M&M to ten feet tall. Up close, the paintings read as expressionist influenced abstractions, but from a distance the paintings come to life with playful characters. Rather than being portraits of real people, these paintings lionize the people of the artist’s personal imaginary world.
